Long Distance Learning (LDL) by BBC-ETS Tlogosari, Semarang

Distance education or distance learning is the education of students who may not always be physically present at a school. Traditionally, this usually involved correspondence courses wherein the student corresponded with the school via post. Today, it involves online education. A distance learning program can be completely distance learning, or a combination of distance learning and traditional classroom instruction (called hybrid or blended).  Massive open online courses (MOOCs), offering large-scale interactive participation and open access through the World Wide Web or other network technologies, are recent educational modes in distance education. A number of other terms (distributed learning, e-learning, m-learning, online learning, virtual classroom etc.) are used roughly synonymously with distance education.

There are no teaching and learning activities in the BBC-ETS Tlogosari Semarang environment. BBC Tlogosari organizes educational activities with the theme of Long Distance Learning as an effort to prevent the increasingly massive spread of Corona Virus (Covid-19). For BBC Tlogosari itself uses 4 types of methods. The method used is as follows:

• Long Distance Learning using WAG (WhatsApp Group) as a means of learning, the teacher will send videos and also worksheets into WAG. And later students can watch the video that has been sent by the teacher. Next, students are asked to work on the worksheet that has been distributed to the WAG.

• Long Distance Learning using Google Form media. The teacher will send the worksheet in Google Form format. Students can directly work on the form.
• Long Distance Learning using Google Classroom media. In using Google Classroom media. The teacher will send assignments and videos to Google classroom media.

• The last Long Distance Learning is using the Zoom meeting media. Students can interact directly with the teacher. The teacher can explain all the material in 40 minutes. If learning is still lacking. Learning can be repeated again by re-entering the zoom meeting application.
